If Products and Safety Keep Getting Better Why Are There More Lawsuits in That Space?
Are we safe to buy the products we produce in America? Are we safe to buy Chinese products, Japanese products, or products from any country or factory for that matter? Are they really that bad, why so many lawsuits? What’s the deal here?
So you are probably going to ask me; “If Products and Safety Keep Getting Better Why Are There More Lawsuits in That Space?” Okay so, this is a very good question and I am glad you asked me, you see it is true that safety, quality, and product reliability of American Made products are far superior than they have been in many decades, thanks to better management practices, Six Sigma Black-Belt consultants, and careful attention to detail from line worker to the middle managers and from the risk management department all the way up to the CEO China’s silk road economic belt.
The issue with more lawsuits is not due to the companies, products, or even how the consumers and buyers of these products use them out here in the real world, rather the lawyers are getting much better at suing and jury selection. They are able to find unemployed, pissed off at the world folks; people who are very angry and want to get back at the corporation, any company. And they love to award huge settlements.
Yes, it is true that a good number of these settlements get over-turned, but not all, and it does very greatly affect the bottom line and the cost of production, as the insurance costs for completed operations (service type companies) or finished products liability (manufacturers) has skyrocketed. What can we do to change this problem? Well, it’s going to be a while, as even our President is a lawyer, and our nation seems to be in the “blame game” mindset, as personal responsibility is a thing of the past.
And well, why bother saving for retirement when you can merely win the lottery or sue a company for a few cool million buckeroos? At some point we as a nation need to put a stop to all these insane lawsuits as it drives up the cost of manufacturing, causing companies to send their factories, and jobs overseas. We also noted that with regards to the ObamaCare Health Care Law, there was no attempt to curtail malpractice lawsuits. That is a perfect example and sign of the times we are living in, see that point?
Whose fault is that? Well, I am not a “blame gamer” type, nor am I won to try to game the system, but it is what it is, and until we do something about this, we can expect more difficulty in the future. Just wait until all those new technology electric cars hit the streets, the lawyers are already lining up, before anyone starts those engines. Think on this.
